College receives 17 ARC grants

In the Australian Research Council (ARC) grants announced yesterday, for commencement in January 2013, the College received 17 successful applications across the Discovery Projects, Discovery Indigenous, and Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) projects.
The College received nine successful submissions for Discovery Projects, seven successful submissions for DECRA projects and one successful submission for a Discovery Indigenous project.
Professor Toni Makkai, Dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences, is thrilled with the success of the College’s researchers in this highly competitive environment.
“These results highlight the very high quality of the College’s research and reinforce the commitment that our academics have for excellence across the arts, humanities and social sciences,” she said.
“We are very pleased with the outcomes of the ARC grants and look forward to seeing the research produced by our academics, and the wide-reaching influence it will generate.”
